Information: Barbee Lake is a fresh water lake located in Kosciusko County, Indiana, United States.
The Barbee chain of lakes were formed by retreating glaciers during the Pleistocene era as were most of northeast Indiana's lakes. The greater Barbee lakes are located just east of Indiana State Road 13, approximately 3 miles south-southeast of Tippecanoe Lake and 5 miles southwest of Webster Lake.
Fishing are prime recreational pursuits on the Barbee Lakes. Fishermen are rewarded with bountiful catches of bluegill, largemouth bass, yellow perch, muskie, catfish, and crappies. The Indiana DNR stocks the Barbee Lakes with muskellunge fingerlings.
Largest of the 11 lakes that comprise the Barbee chain, Big Barbee Lake covers 275 acres with a marl bottom, maximum depth of 60 feet and average depth of 30 feet. Principal game fish are large-mouth bass, rock bass, pike, bluegills, perch, crappies and sun fish.
