North Pond is wild and beautiful, particularly the north and west ends. If one is looking for moose in this area, North Pond is where they should be. The heavily forested hillsides of hemlock, paper birch, aspen, white pine, oak, maple, and many other tree species should provide refuge during the day, while acres and acres of marsh vegetation should provide food by night. Although we paddled here quietly at sunset, however, we did not see any moose. Prominent fish species: white perch and chain pickerel.
