Take I-70 west to I-68 west to Rocky Gap State Park exit 50. Hiking trails provide fishermen complete access to fish the lake's 9.4 miles of shoreline. Shallow flats and points as well as sharp drop-offs provide angler's a variety of fishing strategies. Maximum depth of the lake reaches 74 feet. Water clarity can be defined as clear. Artificial fish structures were constructed and placed throughout the lake to increase survival of young fish species. In recent years there has been an explosion of vegetation, observed growing in depths in excess of 13 feet. This vegetation may hinder fishing and boating activities during late summer and fall.
