Fife Lake is located in the southeast corner of Grand Traverse County. It was incorporated in 1889, named after William H. Fife, a state highway commissioner from the town of Acme. This town is located on a beautiful lake of the same name, and is primarily a tourist area. It also functions as an adjacent community to Kalkaska and Cadillac.
