Prarie lake is located only six miles north of Grand Rapids, Minnesota on highway 38. The Prairie River enters the lake on the north east end of the lake and leaves the lake on the south east end of the lake. Prairie Lake is host to three beautiful campgrounds and resorts. It has many unique features that are easy to explore. Canoing is a very popular way to explore the river on the north end and the gorge on the south end. The gorge is a narrow passage between upper Prairie Lake and lower Prairie Lake. It is a beautiful display of rock and evergreen trees. This is also a very popular fishing spot.
