Fishing
Yellow perch and bluegill were the dominate components of the sampled sport fish community. Although the percent of acceptable sized yellow perch and bluegills from the large mesh gear was only 40% and 39%, there were numerous individuals significantly larger than the minimum acceptable size. The average length of bluegills in large mesh fyke nets was a respectable 5.8 inches. Northern pike, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, pumpkinseed sunfish, and black crappie were also common. A slight infestation of neascus was present in yellow perch. White suckers and two bullhead species comprised the bulk of the non-sport fish populations. Large individuals of both species were present, but do not appear to significantly impact on the sport fish populations.
