Lake Arlington does not have much cover or structure, however the hot water discharge area near the tailrace attracts numerous sport fishes. There are several areas of the lake with stump fields (noted by bouys) that provide habitat. Areas of water willow and button bush may hold some bass.
Largemouth bass are the most popular sport fish in the reservoir. Hybrid striped bass are stocked annually to create a good fishery. White bass, white crappie and channel catfish are also popular with anglers. Stocking of hybrid striped bass has been discontinued.
Lake access is excellent with three boat ramps located on the lake. The City of Arlington requires a boat usage permit, ($30 annual, $15 seniors, $5 daily). For details, choose a point on the map or a name in the chart below.
