Information: Lower Fire Lake is on Fire Creek in Anchorage, Alaska and is used for recreation and fish and wildlife protection, among other things. Construction was completed in 1960. It has a normal surface area of 63 acres. It is owned by the Municipality of Anchorage.
Lower Fire Lake Dam is of earthen construction. Its height is 11 feet with a length of 460 feet. Its capacity is 550 acre feet. Normal storage is 400 acre feet. It drains an area of 4.7 square miles.

There is no bag limit on pike. Cheney, Sand, and Lower Fire lakes are all lakes that have been illegally stocked with pike.
Pike are feeding now in preparation for the winter, so between now and ice-up is a good time to catch pike. Try surface lures, or just a bobber and bait, but be sure to fish the weeds, where the pike hang out.
