Information: More than 14 million people have visited Don Pedro Lake since 1971. With 160 miles of shoreline and nearly 13,000 acre-feet of surface area (at maximum lake level), visitors can enjoy boating, fishing, water sports, swimming and camping. One of the highlights of the year is the annual fireworks show over the lake celebrating the Fourth of July.

The Lake itself supports Bass, Salmon, Rainbow and Brown Trout, Catfish, Crappie and Bluegill fish. In the winter, temperatures are relatively mild, sometimes bringing a light frost.
"Don Pedro Reservoir is an artificial lake formed by the construction of the Don Pedro Dam across the Tuolumne River in the Stanislaus National Forest of Tuolumne County, California in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Communities located nearby are Moccasin and La Grange.
Also referenced as Don Pedro Lake when the name is qualified, the first projects in 1923 are generally referred to as the Old Don Pedro Dam and reservoir, and the 1971 upgrades are the New Don Pedro Dam and reservoir."
